AA members in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Area want to be of service to victims of Katrina.
AA members all over are seeking ways to be of service to those displaced by the horrific hurricane that’s hit the gulf coast area of the U.S. The Dallas Intergroup Association is providing coordination and will keep information posted on the DIA web site. Currently they’re maintaining a list of members and phone numbers who are willing to pick up evacuees and take them to meetings. Some AA’s are already offering their homes to sober families arriving in Dallas without a place to live. If you want to help, contact the Intergroup Office.
Over the coming days we’ll be working with Reunion Arena, the Red Cross and the Dallas Office of Emergency Preparedness to try to set up regularly scheduled AA meetings nearby the sites that refugees are being taken received at to make it convenient for AA’s to get to meetings. We’ll also be visiting local hotels to distribute information and AA literature should their patrons inquire of how to find AA in the DFW area.
